Birmingham City Council and Urban Living have commissioned software called YouCanPlan Lozells to offer residents of the area and interested visitors to an interactive visualisation of proposals for the area. None of the proposals are fixed, which is why the software allows you take a look at the options, chat to your neighbours, and complete an online survey as part of the software.
YouCanPlan can be run online or offline when you don't have an internet connection.
You can look down at the area from above at a map, and see your position in the area. You can orbit around the model, which gives you a birdseye view. You can also walk around at street level, alternatively just jump on the bus.
The software allows you to switch between design proposals to see what the different effects of new development might have on the neighbourhood.
You can chat online with friends and neighbours and take part in some online group chat where a member of the project team with take you through the thinking behind the development proposals.
YouCanPlan will be demonstrated in live events.
